Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FUSE (P-IG-4, P S/HTR, D-IG1-3) 
    1. Remove the P-IG-4 and P S/HTR fuses from the passenger side junction block.
    2. Remove the D-IG1-3 fuse from the main body ECU.
    3. Measure the resistance of the fuses.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      P-IG1-4 fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      P S/HTR fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      D-IG1-3 fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the e4 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      e4-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFIED CONDITIONS

      Tester Connector Switch Condition Specified Condition
      e4-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      e4-2 (SYSB) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE SWITCH RH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the L68 switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      L68-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFIED CONDITIONS

      Tester Connector Switch Condition Specified Condition
      L68-7 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT CLIMATE CONTROL SWITCH RH 
    1. Remove the L67 switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connector Switch Condition Specified Condition
      5 (V5R) - 4 (VSR) Cooler MAX → Heater MAX Below 1 Ω → 5 kΩ

    NG: REPLACE CLIMATE CONTROL SWITCH RH  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - SEAT CLIMATE SWITCH RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the e4 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the L68 switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      e4-14 (V5) - L68-5 (V5R) Always Below 1 Ω
      e4-18 (VS) - L68-4 (VSR) Always Below 1 Ω
      e4-15 (VG) - L68-3 (VGR) Always Below 1 Ω
      e4-14 (V5) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e4-18 (VS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e4-15 (VG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU  (See REMOVAL  )
