Front Power Seat Motor Assembly: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the operation of the headrest adjuster.
      1. Check if the adjuster moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the headrest adjuster connector terminals.

        OK 

        HEADREST ADJUSTER OPERATION CHART

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → 1 (HUP)
        Battery negative (-) → 5 (HDWN)
        Upward
        Battery positive (+) → 5 (HDWN)
        Battery negative (-) → 1 (HUP)
        Downward

        If the result not as specified, replace the headrest adjuster.

  2. INSPECT POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Retractable Headrest) 
    1. Check the operation of the headrest motor.
      1. Check if the motor rotates smoothly when the battery is connected to the headrest motor connector terminals.

        OK

        Battery positive (+) → 1
        Battery negative (-) → 2
        Clockwise
        Battery positive (+) → 2
        Battery negative (-) → 1
        Counterclockwise

        If the result not as specified, replace the headrest motor.

  3. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Check operation of the seat frame (slide motor).
      1. Check if the seat frame moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

        OK

        Battery positive (+) → 2
        Battery negative (-) → 1
        Forward
        Battery positive (+) → 1
        Battery negative (-) → 2
        Backward

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat frame with adjuster.

    2. Check operation of the seat frame (front vertical motor).
      1. Check if the seat frame moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

        OK

        Battery positive (+) → 1
        Battery negative (-) → 2
        Upward
        Battery positive (+) → 2
        Battery negative (-) → 1

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat frame with adjuster.

    3. Check operation of the seat frame (lifter motor).
      1. Check if the seat frame moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

        OK

        Battery negative (-) → 1
        Upward
        Battery positive (+) → 1

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat frame with adjuster.

    4. Check operation of the seat frame (reclining motor).
      1. Check if the seat frame moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

        OK

        Forward
        Battery positive (+) → 1

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat frame with adjuster.

    5. Check operation of the seat frame (cushion motor).
      1. Check if the seat frame moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

        OK

        Battery negative (-) → 2
        Forward
        Battery positive (+) → 2

        If the result is not as specified, replace the seat frame with adjuster.

  4. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Check operation of the seat frame (slide motor).
      1. Check if the seat frame moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the slide motor connector terminals.

        OK
