Front Seat Assembly: Disassembly

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat adjuster and seat cushion frame may injure your hands.
NOTE: If the occupant classification ECU has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.

HINT:

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Release the rubber bands of the seatback board from the seat adjuster.

    2. Remove the 3 screws and detach the claw.
    3. Detach the 2 claws in the order shown in the illustration, and then remove the cushion shield.
    4. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

  2. REMOVE POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 screws and position control ECU and switch.

  3. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SEAT SHIELD SET BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and bracket.

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HINGE COVER LH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and hinge cover.

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD FRONT LH 
    1. Remove the 4 screws and cushion shield front.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws.
    2. Detach the claw and remove the cushion shield inner.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Detach the 2 hooks and remove the seatback board.
    3. Remove the interior illumination light wire harness clamp.
    4. Disconnect the interior illumination light wire harness connector.

    5. Remove the screw and interior illumination light.

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. w/ Climate Control Seat System:
      1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the air duct.

      2. Remove the 3 screws, and disconnect the duct of the climate control blower.

      3. Remove the wire harness clamp and disconnect the 2 connectors.

      4. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the climate control controller duct.
      5. Remove the wire harness clamp and disconnect the connector.

    2. Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips.

    3. for Front Passenger Side:

      Disconnect the connectors.

    4. Detach the hook and remove the 4 bolts and seat cushion assembly.

  10. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH (CUSHION SIDE) (w/ Climate Control Seat System) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and climate control controller.

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    NOTE:
    • As the front passenger side seat has an occupant classification system, its front seat cushion assembly cannot be disassembled.
    • If replacing the front passenger side seat, replace the front seat set (cushion assembly, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).
    1. Detach the hooks.
    2. Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and seat cushion frame sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    NOTE:
    • As the front passenger side seat has an occupant classification system, its front seat cushion assembly cannot be disassembled.
    • If replacing the front passenger side seat, replace the front seat set (cushion assembly, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).
    1. Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover from the seat cushion pad.

  13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. w/ Retractable Headrest:

      Pull up the headrest to remove it.

    2. w/o Retractable Headrest:

      Remove the 2 pins and headrest.

  14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT LH 
    1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.

  15. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD 
    1. Remove the bolt and seatback cover bracket.

    2. for Front Passenger Side:
      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the power seat switch.

    3. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips, and detach the hooks. Then remove the seatback cover with pad from the seat frame.

  16. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the hog rings and seatback cover from the seatback pad.
  17. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK FRAME ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts and seatback frame.

  18. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH (BACK SIDE) (w/ Climate Control Seat System) 
    1. w/ Lumbar Support Adjuster:

      Remove the 2 screws and climate control controller.

    2. w/o Lumbar Support Adjuster:

      Pull up the climate control controller to remove it.

  19. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. for Driver Side:

      Remove the 4 bolts and 2 lumbar support adjuster motors from the seatback frame.

    2. for Passenger Side:

      Remove the 2 bolts and lumbar support adjuster motor from the seatback frame.

    3. Detach the 4 clamps and remove the lumbar support adjuster.

  20. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and detach the 2 claws.
    2. Remove the headrest adjuster.

  21. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Retractable Headrest) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and headrest motor from the seatback frame.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and detach the 2 claws.
    3. Remove the headrest adjuster.

    4. Detach the 2 claws and remove the motor.

    5. Detach the 2 claws and remove the cable.

    6. Remove the 2 screws and headrest stay cover.

  22. REMOVE FRONT NO. 5 SEAT SET BRACKET (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clamps and remove the bracket.

  23. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH 
    1. Remove the screw and remove the reclining adjuster inside cover.
    2. Remove the wire harness clamp from the reclining adjuster inside cover.

  24. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH 
    1. Remove the screw and reclining adjuster inside cover.
  25. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER 
    1. Remove the 4 nuts and cushion shield lower.

  26. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING 
    1. Remove the 2 springs.

  27. REMOVE NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION PLATE 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and seat cushion plate.

  28. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SEAT TRAVEL LINK 
    1. Remove the bolt and front seat travel link.

  29. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SEAT TRAVEL LINK 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the No. 2 seat travel link.

  30. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU (w/ Climate Control Seat System) 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and climate control ECU.

  31. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System) 
    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the climate control duct.
    2. Remove the wire harness clamp and disconnect the connector.
    3. Remove the wire harness clamp, 2 bolts and climate control blower.

  32. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR FILTER (w/ Climate Control Seat System) 
    1. Rotate the No. 1 filter counterclockwise to detach the claws, and then remove it.

  33. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Side) 
    NOTE: If the occupant classification ECU has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.
    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and occupant classification ECU.
      NOTE: If replacing the ECU, replace the front seat set (cushion assembly, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).
  34. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR  (See REMOVAL )
  35. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE LH
