Front Seat Assembly: Installation

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seatback spring, seat adjuster and seat cushion spring may injure your hands.

HINT:

  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the front seat assembly as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
      • Make sure the seatback does not contact the shift lever knob.
      • Make sure the center pillar does not contact the power seat switch knob.

      HINT:

      Install the seat assembly through the door frame so that it passes under the steering wheel.

    2. Connect the connectors under the seat.
      NOTE: Make sure the center pillar does not contact the power seat switch knob.
    3. Connect the cable to the battery negative terminal.
    4. Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) to move the seat to the rearmost position.

    5. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf)

    6. Attach the 4 claws and install the 2 seat track covers.
    7. Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) to move the seat to the foremost position.

    8. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf)

    9. Attach the 4 claws and install the 2 seat track covers.
    10. Reset the AUTO TILT AWAY function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter (see CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS ).

  2. CONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the outer belt anchor with the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf)

    2. for Front Passenger Side:

      Connect the connector.

    3. Insert the seat belt anchor cover cap in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to install it.

    4. After installing the seat belt anchor cover cap, pull out the seat belt toward the front as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE: When installing the seat belt anchor cover cap, the seat belt will get pushed in and shorten. Therefore, perform the above to return the seat belt to the proper position.

      Specification 

      SEAT BELT SPECIFICATION

      Position Angle
      A 35°
  3. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  5. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
  6. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the power seat operation (see OPERATION CHECK  ).
    2. w/ Climate Control Seat System:

      Check the climate control seat system (see OPERATION CHECK  ).
