Front Seat Assembly: Reassembly

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat adjuster seat cushion frame may injure your hands.

NOTE: If the occupant classification ECU has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.

HINT:

Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
The procedure listed below are for the LH side.
A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).

INSTALL FRONT SEAT WIRE LH
INSTALL SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (See INSTALLATION )
INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Side)
NOTE:
- If replacing the ECU, replace the front seat set (cushion assembly, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).
- If the occupant classification ECU has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.

1. Install the occupant classification ECU with the 2 nuts.
  Torque: 3.0 N*m (31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf)
2. Connect the connector.
INSTALL NO. 1 AIR FILTER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)
1. Rotate the No. 1 filter clockwise to attach the claws and install it.

INSTALL SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System)
1. Install the climate control blower with the 2 bolts and wire harness clamp.
2. Connect the connector and install the wire harness clamp.
3. Attach the 2 claws and install the climate control air duct.

INSTALL SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System)
1. Install the climate control ECU with the 2 bolts.
2. Connect the 2 connectors.

INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 SEAT TRAVEL LINK
1. Install the seat travel link with the bolt.
  Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)
INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SEAT TRAVEL LINK
1. Install the seat travel link with the bolt.
  Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

INSTALL NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION PLATE
1. Install the seat cushion plate with the 2 bolts.

INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING
1. Install the 2 springs.

1. Install the cushion shield lower with the 4 nuts.

INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH
1. Install the reclining adjuster inside cover with the screw.

1. Install the wire harness clamp to the reclining adjuster inside cover.
2. Install the reclining adjuster inside cover with the screw.

INSTALL FRONT NO. 5 SEAT SET BRACKET (for Front Passenger Side)
1. Attach the 2 clamps and install the bracket.
2. Install the 2 screws.

INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
1. Attach the 2 claws and install the headrest adjuster.
2. Install the 2 bolts.
  Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)

INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Retractable Headrest)
1. Install the headrest stay cover with the 2 screws.

2. Attach the 2 claws and install the cable.

3. Attach the 2 claws and install the motor.

4. Attach the 2 claws and install the headrest adjuster.
5. Install the 4 bolts and 2 screws.
  Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) for bolt

INSTALL LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH
1. Install the lumbar support adjuster and attach the 4 clamps.
2. for Driver Side:
  Install the 2 motors with the 4 bolts.
3. for Passenger Side:
  Install the motor with the 2 bolts.

1. w/ Lumbar Support Adjuster:
  Install the climate control controller with the 2 screws.

2. w/o Lumbar Support Adjuster:
  Install the climate control controller to the seatback frame.

INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK FRAME ASSEMBLY LH
1. Temporarily install the seatback frame with the 4 bolts.
2. Push the seatback frame towards the vehicle rear, and tighten the 4 bolts.
  Torque: 43 N*m (439 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)

3. Attach the clamps and connect the connectors.

1. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover to the seatback pad with new hog rings.
  NOTE:
  - Be careful not to damage the cover.
  - When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

1. Install the seatback cover (with pad) to the seatback frame and attach the hooks, Then install the 2 clips.

2. for Front Passenger Side:
  1. Attach the 2 claws and install the power seat switch.
  2. Connect the connector.

3. Install the seatback cover bracket with the bolt.
  Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)

1. Attach the 4 claws and install the 2 headrest supports.

1. w/ Retractable Headrest:
  Install the headrest.
2. w/o Retractable Headrest:
  Install the headrest with the 2 pins.

1. Using hog ring pliers, install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion pad with new hog rings.
  NOTE:
  - Be careful not to damage the cover.
  - When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.
  - As the front passenger side seat has an occupant classification system, its front seat cushion assembly cannot be disassembled.
  - If replacing the front passenger side seat, replace the front seat set (cushion assembly, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).

NOTE:
- As the front passenger side seat has an occupant classification system, its front seat cushion assembly cannot be disassembled.
- If replacing the front passenger side seat, replace the front seat set (cushion assembly, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).
1. Install the seat cushion frame with the 4 clips.
2. Attach the hooks.

1. Install the climate control controller with the 2 screws.

1. Install the seat cushion assembly with the 4 bolts and attach the hook.
  Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)
2. for Front Passenger Side:
  Connect the connector.

3. Install the 4 clips.

4. w/ Climate Control Seat System:
  1. Attach the 2 claws and connect the climate control duct.
  2. Connect the connector and install the connector clamp.

  3. Connect the 2 connectors and install the wire harness clamp.

  4. Connect the duct of the climate control blower and install the 3 screws.

  5. Attach the 2 claws and install the air duct.

1. Install the interior illumination light with the screw.

2. Attach the 2 hooks and install the seatback board.
3. Connect the interior illumination light wire harness connector.
4. Install the interior illumination light wire harness clamp.
5. Install the 2 screws.

1. Connect the 2 connectors.
2. Attach the 2 claws in the order shown in the illustration, and install the cushion shield.
3. Install the 3 screws.

4. Install the rubber band of the front seatback board to the seat adjuster.
