Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK BLINKING CONDITION OF LED7 
    1. 5 seconds after the seat vibrator switch SW1 is pressed, check if LED7 blinks.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Blinks A
      Does not blink B

    B: Go to step  3

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the S29 seat vibrator module connector.
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFIED CONDITIONS

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      S29-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S29-8 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

  3. CHECK BLINKING CONDITION OF LED6 
    1. 5 seconds after the seat vibrator switch SW1 is pressed, check if LED6 blinks.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Blinks A
      Does not blink B

    B: Go to step  7

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the Y2 switch connector.
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFIED CONDITIONS

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      Y2-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Y2-5 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH - SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE) 
    1. Disconnect the S29 seat vibrator module connector.
    2. Disconnect the Y2 switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Y2-3 (MPX) - S29-3 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the seat vibrator switch with a new or normally operating one. Perform an operation inspection.

      OK: Seatback mat operates normally. 

    NG: REPLACE SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: END (SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH IS DEFECTIVE) 

  7. CHECK SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH 
    1. When the seat vibrator switch's air operation is selected, check that the respective seat vibrator switch LEDs illuminate.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Illuminate A
      Do not illuminate B

    B: Go to step  11

    A: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the seat vibrator module with a new or normally operating one. Perform an operation inspection.

      OK: Seatback mat operates normally. 

    NG: REPLACE SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK AIR HOSE 
    1. Replace the air hose with a new or normally operating one. Perform an operation inspection.

      OK: Seatback mat operates normally. 

    NG: REPLACE AIR HOSE  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK REAR SEATBACK MAT 
    1. Perform the Active Test on the rear seatback mat (see OPERATION CHECK  ).

      OK: Rear seatback mat operates normally. 

    NG: REPLACE REAR SEATBACK MAT  (See DISASSEMBLY  )

    OK: SYSTEM IS OK 

  11. CHECK BLINKING CONDITION OF LED8 
    1. 5 seconds after the seat vibrator switch SW1 is pressed, check if LED8 blinks.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Blinks A
      Does not blink B

    A: REPLACE SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

    B: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH 
    1. Perform the Active Test on the seat vibrator switch (see OPERATION CHECK  ).

      OK: All switches on seat vibrator switch operate normally. 

    NG: REPLACE SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH 

    OK: REPLACE SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )
