Brake Control Power Supply: Removal
NOTE:
While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH (See REMOVAL )
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HOD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE BRAKE CONTROL POWER SUPPLY COVER NOTE: Do not remove the cover if planning to reuse the brake control power supply.
- Remove the cover if planning to replace the brake control power supply.
- REMOVE BRAKE CONTROL POWER SUPPLY ASSEMBLY CAUTION: Immediately after removing the brake control power supply from the vehicle, there may be an electrical charge left in the internal capacitor. If planning to inspect the inside of the brake control power supply, leave it as is for more than 24 hours (to discharge it) after removing it from the vehicle. Then perform the inspection.
- Remove the 3 nuts and brake control power supply.
- Disconnect the connector.
- REMOVE NO. 1 BRAKE CONTROL POWER SUPPLY BRACKET
- Remove the 4 bolts and 2 brackets.
