Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
When replacing the skid control ECU, perform initialization of linear solenoid valve and calibration (see INITIALIZATION
and CALIBRATION
).
- PRE-CHECK
- Check that the brake hold standby indicator light operates normally (see BRAKE HOLD STANDBY INDICATOR LIGHT CIRCUIT ).
- If the brake hold operated indicator light does not illuminate although the brake hold standby indicator light is illuminated, check that the following brake hold operation (maintaining brake oil pressure) conditions are met.
- System is in operation standby state.
- Shift position is not P or R.
- Driver is depressing brake pedal and vehicle is fully stopped.
- Driver is not depressing accelerator pedal.
- Vehicle is not on steep decline.
HINT:
For brake hold operation and completion condition details, refer to the following procedures (see SYSTEM DESCRIPTION ).
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (BRAKE HOLD OPERATED INDICATOR LIGHT)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Select the Active Test mode on the Techstream.
Combination meter
COMBINATION METER REFERENCE CHARTTester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Indicat. Hold Brake hold operated indicator light ON / OFF Observe combination meter - Check that the brake hold operated indicator light turns on or off on the Techstream.
OK: The brake hold operated indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Techstream.
NG: GO TO METER AND GAUGE SYSTEM (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
OK: Go to Next Step
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (BRAKE HOLD OPERATED INDICATOR LIGHT)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Select the Active Test mode on the Techstream.
ABS/VSC/TRAC
ABS/VSC/TRAC REFERENCE CHARTTester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note BH Operated Light Brake hold standby indicator light ON / OFF Observe combination meter - Check that the brake hold operated indicator light turns on or off on the Techstream.
OK: The brake hold operated indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Techstream.
NG: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (See REMOVAL )
OK: CHECK INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (See CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS )
