System Outline
- Line Pressure Optimal Control
Through the use of the solenoid valve SLT, the line pressure is optimized in accordance with the engine torque information, as well as with the internal operating conditions of the torque converter and the transaxle. Accordingly, the line pressure can be controlled minutely in accordance with the engine output, traveling conditions, and the ATF temperature, thus giving smoother shift characteristics and optimizing the workload in the oil pump.
- Clutch-to-Clutch Transmission Control
The fluid pressure of the clutch and brake are controlled independently using control valves in accordance with the pressures output from the linear solenoid valves, SL1, SL2, SL3, SL4 and SL5, which are controlled based on drive signals from the transmission control module.
By fully utilizing the fluid pressure circuit and the compact, large flow volume linear solenoid, the optimum fluid pressures and clutch and brake timings are controlled independently, based on the input/output shaft rotation speed, engine torque, etc. The transmission therefore allows not only single gear shifts, but also multiple gear shifts, smoothly and with an improved response.
- Multi Mode Automatic Transmission
The multi mode automatic transmission has an [S]-position is beside the [D]-position. If the selector lever is moved to the "S" position, you can then select the shift range via manual shifting.
