Combination Meter: Removal
NOTE:
- Make sure the combination meter glass and meter display panel does not become dirty with fingerprints, oil, etc. If dirty, clean with a soft cloth.
- Be careful of static electricity when handling the meter ECU and meter display panel. Make sure the work area has static electricity prevention measures.
CAUTION:
Do not touch any parts of the circuit of the meter display panel and condenser. Even if the engine switch is off, the meter display panel and condenser are electrically charged.
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH (See REMOVAL )
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- Disable the AUTO TILT AWAY function by changing the customize parameter (see CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS
).NOTE: Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the AUTO TILT AWAY function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.
HINT:
Performing the above operation causes the AUTO TILT AWAY function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
- Turn the engine switch off and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Disable the AUTO TILT AWAY function by changing the customize parameter (see CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS
).
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera) (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera) (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Apply protective tape to the area shown below.
- Remove the 2 clips.
- Using a molding remover, detach the 2 clips.
- Disconnect the connector and remove the finish panel.
- REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Disconnect the connector and remove the combination meter.
