How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage: 

    11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

  3. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
    2. Delete the DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
    3. Recheck for DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ). Based on the DTCs output above, try to force output of the same CAN communication system DTC or meter/gauge system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.

      Result: 

      RESULT REFERENCE TABLE

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      CAN communication system DTC is output B
      Meter / gauge system DTC is output C

    B: Go to  CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    C: Go to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE  

    A: Go to next step 

  4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  .

      Result: 

      RESULT REFERENCE TABLE

      Result Proceed to
      Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table A
      Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B

    B: Go to step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  5. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. See TERMINALS OF ECU 
    2. Ssee DATA LIST/ACTIVE TEST 
    3. See OPERATION CHECK 
  6. REPAIR OR REPLACE 
  7. CONFIRMATION TEST
