Auxiliary Emission Control Systems: Canister: Removal
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH (See REMOVAL )
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- REMOVE FLOOR NO. 1 UNDER COVER
- Remove the 2 hole plugs.
- Remove the 5 nuts, 5 clips and under cover.
- REMOVE CANISTER
- Disconnect the air inlet line tube (leak detection pump) and vent line tube.
- Pinch the retainer and then raise it.NOTE:
- Do not use any tools in this procedure.
- Check for any dirt and foreign matter contamination in the valve and around the connector. Clean if necessary. Foreign matter may damage the O-rings or cause leaks in the seal between the valve and connector.
- Do not allow any scratches or foreign objects on the parts when disconnecting the tube.
- Do not forcibly bend, twist or turn the nylon tube.
- Protect the disconnected part by covering it with a plastic bag after disconnecting the tube.
- If the tube connector and pipe are stuck, push and pull to release them.

- Pinch the retainer and then raise it.
- Disconnect the purge line hose from the pipe.
- Disconnect the connector (leak detection pump).
- Remove the 4 bolts, 2 plastic nuts and canister.
- Detach the 2 clamps.
- Disconnect the purge line hose from the canister.
- Disconnect the air inlet line tube (leak detection pump) and vent line tube.
