Fuel Pressure Pulsation Damper: Installation

INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER ASSEMBLY
1. Temporarily install the 2 dampers together with 4 new gaskets and the pipe to the fuel pump.

2. Install the 2 clamp bolts.
  Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

3. Using SST, tighten the 2 dampers.
  SST 09612-24014(09617-24011)
  
  Torque: without SST
  
  40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf)
  
  with SST
  
  35 N*m (357 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf)
  
  HINT:
  - Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.81 in.).
  - Make sure SST and wrench are connected in a straight line.

4. Connect the 3 fuel hoses.

5. Connect the connector to the delivery pipe.

6. Install the bracket with the bolt.
  Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Install the No. 3 engine cover with the 2 clips.

2. Install the bracket with the 2 bolts.
  Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Push in the tube connector to the pipe until the tube connector makes a "click" sound.
2. Push down on the retainer to lock it in place.
  NOTE:
  - Check that there is no damage or foreign objects on the connected part of the fuel pipe.
  - After connecting, check that the fuel tube connector and the pipe are securely connected by pulling on them.
INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD
1. Install the intake manifold (see INSTALLATION ).
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
PERFORM INITIALIZATION
1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
  NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT (See REPLACEMENT )
CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKS (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
