Steering Wheel: Installation

  1. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL HEATER CONTROLLER 
    1. Install the heater controller with the 2 screws and connect the 2 connectors.

  2. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the cruise control main switch with the 2 screws and connect the connector.

  3. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH MODULATOR 
    1. Install the steering pad switch with the 4 screws and connect the 2 connectors.

  4. INSTALL STEERING SHAKE DAMPER 
    1. Install the shake damper with the 2 screws.

  5. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft assembly.
    2. Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

      Torque: 50 N*m (510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf)

  6. INSTALL STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Support the steering pad with one hand as shown in the illustration.
    2. Connect the 2 connectors to the steering pad.
      NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
    3. Connect the horn connector.
    4. Confirm that the circumference groove of the "TORX" screw fits in the screw case, and place the steering pad onto the steering wheel assembly.

    5. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the 2 "TORX" screws.

      Torque: 8.8 N*m (90 kgf*cm, 78 in.*lbf) 

  7. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER 
    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the cover.

  8. INSTALL SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE 
    1. Attach the claw to install the switch and volume case.

  9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  10. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
