Engine Control System - Circuit Tests, Component Removal, Inspection & Installation: ECM: Removal
- REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH (See REMOVAL )
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.NOTE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
- After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER NOTE:
- Wipe off any water on or around the ECU cover.
- Perform these procedures in a dry place away from rain, etc.
- Do not allow water to enter the ECM through its connectors areas, screw areas, etc.
- Remove the 3 bolts and ECU cover.
- REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
- Disconnect the 4 ECU connectors.
- Remove the 2 nuts and ECU
- DISCONNECT NO. 2 CONNECTOR HOLDER
- Disconnect the 2 engine wire connectors.
- Disconnect the 2 claws with the connector holder.
- REMOVE ECM
- Disconnect the 6 ECM connectors
- Remove the 2 nuts and ECM.
- Remove the 4 screws and 2 ECM brackets from the ECM
