Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check for LIN communication system DTCs related to the power window control system.

    Result: 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Result Proceed to
    DTC is not output A
    DTC is output B

    B: GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    A: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK POWER WINDOW OPERATION FUNCTION AFTER POWER SWITCH OFF 
    1. Check the power window operation function after the power switch is turned OFF.

    Result: 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Result Proceed to
    Driver side door or front passenger side door is opened within 45 seconds but power window can still operate A
    45 seconds pass and the power windows can still operate B

    B: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK) 

    A: Go to Next Step 

  3. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH) 
    1. Use the Data List to check if the main body ECU is functioning properly
      1. Intelligent tester

        MAIN BODY: 

        DATA LIST - MAIN BODY

        Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
        D DOR CTY SW Driver side door courtesy switch signal / ON or OFF ON Driver door open
        OFF Driver door closed
        P DOR CTY SW Front passenger side door courtesy switch signal / ON or OFF ON Front passenger door open
        OFF Front passenger door closed
      2. Techstream

      Main body: 

      DATA LIST - MAIN BODY

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      D Door Courtesy SW Driver side door courtesy switch signal / ON or OFF ON Driver door open
      OFF Driver door closed
      P Door Courtesy SW Front passenger side door courtesy switch signal / ON or OFF ON Front passenger door open
      OFF Front passenger door closed

    OK: Tester display changes normally when door courtesy switch is operated. 

    NG:  Go to step  4

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK) 

  4. CHECK FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Open the driver side door and check that the map light illuminates.

      OK: Map light illuminates. 

    2. Open the front passenger side door and check that the map light illuminates.

    OK: Map light illuminates. 

    NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY  (See FRONT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH )

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK)
