Brake Control Power Supply: Removal

NOTE: While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/ close the doors while the battery is connected.
  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL ).
  2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL ).
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
    NOTE:
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
    • After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  4. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER  (See REMOVAL ).
  5. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP  (See REMOVAL ).
  6. REMOVE ROPE HOOK  (See REMOVAL ).
  7. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL ).
  8. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH  (See REMOVAL ).
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ Rear Cooler)  (See REMOVAL ).
  10. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL ).
  11. REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER  (See REMOVAL ).
  12. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE  (See REMOVAL ).
  13. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL ).
  14. REMOVE POWER STEERING CONVERTER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL ).
  15. REMOVE BRAKE CONTROL POWER SUPPLY ASSEMBLY 
    CAUTION: Immediately after removing the brake control power supply from the vehicle, there may be an electrical charge left in the internal capacitor. If planning to inspect the inside of the brake control power supply, leave it as is for more than 24 hours (to discharge it) after removing it from the vehicle. Then perform the inspection.
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the 3 nuts and brake control power supply.

  16. REMOVE NO. 1 BRAKE CONTROL POWER SUPPLY BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 brackets
      NOTE: Do not drop the brake control power supply. If the brake control power supply has been dropped replace the brake control power supply with a new one.
