System Outline
When the vehicle is stopped by pressing the brake pedal, the brake holding system maintains the fluid pressure in the four wheel cylinders at a predetermined level. On a normal road, without the brake pedal being depressed or the parking brake being applied, this system will prevent the vehicle from moving. By simply depressing the accelerator pedal, the fluid pressure will be released and the vehicle can start off gently.
The brake holding system is also useful when the vehicle starts off on an uphill gradient. It prevents the vehicle from rolling back when the brake pedal is released.
