Combination Meter: Removal
NOTE:
- Make sure the combination meter glass and meter display panel does not become dirty with fingerprints, oil, etc. If dirty, clean with a soft cloth.
- Be careful of static electricity when handling the meter ECU and meter display panel. Make sure the work area has static electricity prevention measures.
CAUTION:
Do not touch any parts of the circuit of the meter display panel and condenser. Even if the power switch is off, the meter display panel and condenser are electrically charged.
- REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH (See REMOVAL )
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- Disable the AUTO TILT AWAY function by changing the customize parameter (see
CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS
)NOTE: Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the AUTO TILT AWAY function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.
HINT:
Performing the above operation causes the AUTO TILT AWAY function to be disabled when the power switch is turned OFF.
- Turn the power switch ON (IG) Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
- Turn the power switch OFF and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.NOTE:- After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
- Disable the AUTO TILT AWAY function by changing the customize parameter (see
CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS
)
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
- Detach the 6 clips and remove the side panel.
- REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOLDING
- Detach the 2 clips and remove the molding
- REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Using a screwdriver, detach the claw.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use
- Remove the hole cover
- Remove the 2 screws
- Detach the 5 clips and claw
- Remove the safety pad and then disconnect the connectors
- Using a screwdriver, detach the claw.
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera) (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera) (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 2 clips
- Place protective tape as shown in the illustration
- Detach the clip on the right sideNOTE: Pulling with excessive force will cause damage to the surface of the instrument panel safety pad.
- Detach the clip on the left sideNOTE: Pulling with excessive force will cause damage to the surface of the instrument panel safety pad.
- Hold the back of the trip switch on the finish panel with your right hand, and disconnect the connector with your left hand.
- Hold the back of the light control rheostat on the finish panel with your right hand, and disconnect the connector with your left hand.
- Rotate the finish panel as shown in the illustration to remove it.
- REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Disconnect the connector and remove the combination meter.
