Fuel Pressure Pulsation Damper: Installation

HINT:

When viewed from the rear of the engine assembly, Bank 1 is on the left side and Bank 2 is on the right side.

  1. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily install each dampers together with 2 new gaskets and the fuel pipe to the fuel pump.

    2. Install the 2 clamp bolts

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

    3. Using SST, tighten the 2 dampers.

      SST 09612-24014 (09617-24011) 

      Torque: without SST 

      40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) 

      with SST 

      35 N*m (357 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT.

      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.8 in.)
      • Make sure SST and the torque wrench are connected in a straight line.

    4. Connect the 3 fuel hoses.

    5. Connect the 2 delivery pipe connectors to the delivery pipe.

  2. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE 
    1. Push in the tube connector to the pipe until the tube connector makes a "click" sound.

    3. Push down on the retainer to lock it in place.
      NOTE:
      • Check that there is no damage or foreign objects on the connected part of the fuel pipe.
      • After connecting, check that the fuel tube connector and the pipe are securely connected by pulling on them.
  3. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. CONNECT PCV HOSE  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL PURGE VSV  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL WATER BY-PASS PIPE HOSE  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL NO. 3 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No 3 cover with the 2 clips

  8. INSTALL ENGINE MOTOR CABLE CLAMP BRACKET  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. CONNECT FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL INJECTOR DRIVER  (See INSTALLATION  )
  11. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE HARNESS  (See INSTALLATION )
  12. CONNECT ECM CONNECTOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. CONNECT NO. 2 CONNECTOR HOLDER  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. CONNECT HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL OUTLET ENGINE ROOM ECM DUCT  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  17. INSTALL NO. 5 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No 5 cover
  18. INSTALL ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Install the engine cover RH with the 4 nuts

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

  19. INSTALL NO. 6 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No 6 cover.
  20. INSTALL ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the engine cover LH with the 4 nuts.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

  21. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE  (See INSTALLATION )

  41. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
  42. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  43. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  44. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  (See REPLACEMENT )
