Fuel Pump: Inspection

INSPECT FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY

Check the resistance of the fuel pump.

Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

RESISTANCE REFERENCE

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
1 - 2	20°C (68°F)	0.2 to 3.0 Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump assembly

Inspect the operation of the fuel pump

Apply battery voltage to the connector, and check that the fuel pump operate.

VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

Measurement Condition	Specified Condition
Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2	Fuel pump operate

If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump assembly.

NOTE:

These tests must be performed within 10 seconds to prevent the coil from burning out.
Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as possible.

Always turn the voltage on and off on the battery side, not the fuel pump side.
