Oil Level Sensor: Removal
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.NOTE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
- After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Remove the timing chain cover (see REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY (See DISASSEMBLY )
- REMOVE NO. 1 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY (See DISASSEMBLY )
- REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PAN BAFFLE PLATE
- Remove the 4 bolts and baffle plate.
- REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR
- Remove the 4 bolts and oil level sensor.
- Cut off the gasket as shown in the illustration.
- Remove the gasket from the oil level sensor.
HINT:
After cutting away the parts of the gasket shown in the illustration, remove only the outer part of the gasket
