Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT POWER SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the L36 power switch connector
    2. Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the power switch, and check the illumination condition of the power switch indicator light.
      NOTE:
      • If the positive (+) lead and the negative (-) lead are incorrectly connected, the power switch indicator light will not illuminate.
      • If the voltage is too low, the indicator light will not illuminate.

      OK 

      BATTERY VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Battery terminal (+) → Terminal 11 (SWIL) - Battery terminal (-) → Terminal 5 (GND) Always Illuminates
      Battery terminal (+) → Terminal 12 (INDS) - Battery terminal (-) → Terminal 5 (GND) Always Illuminates
      Battery terminal (+) → Terminal 13 (INDW) - Battery terminal (-) → Terminal 5 (GND) Always Illuminates

    NG: REPLACE POWER SWITCH  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next Step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - POWER SWITCH, BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the L13 main body ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the L36 power switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L13-25 (SWIL) - L36-11 (SWIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      L13-15 (INDS) - L36-12 (INDS) Always Below 1 Ω
      L13-14 (INDW) - L36-13 (INDW) Always Below 1 Ω
      L36-5 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      L13-25 (SWIL) or L36-11 (SWIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L13-15 (INDS) or L36-12 (INDS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L13-14 (INDW) or L36-13 (INDW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
