How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage: 

    11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

  3. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output.
    2. Clear the DTCs
    3. Based on the DTCs output above, try to cause the output of the same CAN communication system DTC or airbag system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC. Then recheck for DTCs.

    Result:

    RESULT CHART

    Result Proceed to
    DTC is not output A
    CAN communication system DTC is output B
    Airbag system DTC is output C
    Occupant classification system DTC is output D

    B: Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See SYSTEM DESCRIPTION )

    C: Go to AIRBAG SYSTEM  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )

    D: Go to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )

    A: Go to next step 

  4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to the problem symptoms table (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).
  5. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Operation check (see OPERATION CHECK )
    2. DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST (see DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST )
    3. Terminals of ECU (see TERMINALS OF ECU )
  6. REPAIR OR REPLACE 
  7. CONFIRMATION TEST 

    END
