Front Axle Hub: Installation

HINT.

  1. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the front axle hub to the steering knuckle with the 4 bolts

      Torque: 65 N*m (663 kgf*cm, 48 ft.*lbf)

  2. INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the splines of the steering knuckle LH and drive shaft assembly.
    2. Install the steering knuckle to the front lower ball joint with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 113 N*m (1152 kgf*cm, 83 ft.*lbf)

  3. CONNECT FRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the steering knuckle to the front No. 1 suspension upper arm with the nut.

      Torque: 60 N*m (612 kgf*cm, 44 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Install new clips.
      NOTE: If it is necessary to align the holes for the clips after installing the nuts, the nuts can be tightened up to 60° more.

  4. CONNECT FRONT NO. 2 SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the steering knuckle to the front No. 2 suspension upper arm with the nut.

      Torque: 60 N*m (612 kgf*cm, 44 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Install new clips.
      NOTE: If it is necessary to align the holes for the clips after installing the nuts, the nuts can be tightened up to 60° more.

  5. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the tie rod to the steering knuckle with the nut.

      Torque: 60 N*m (612 kgf*cm, 44 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Install new clips.
      NOTE: If it is necessary to align the holes for the clips after installing the nuts, the nuts can be tightened up to 60° more.

  6. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH 
    1. Install the speed sensor to the steering knuckle with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the tip of the speed sensor.
      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the tip or installation area of the speed sensor.

  7. CONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE 
    1. Connect the front speed sensor connector.
    2. Install the sensor clamp to the steering knuckle LH with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Do not twist the skid control sensor wire.

  8. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE DUST COVER LH 
    1. Install the front disc brake dust cover with the 4 bolts

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)

  9. INSTALL FRONT DISC  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the front disc brake caliper to the steering knuckle with 2 new bolts.

      Torque: 135 N*m (1377 kgf*cm, 100 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not twist the flexible hose.
      • Make sure the threaded parts are free from foreign matter and are not damaged.
      • Be careful not to overtighten the bolts, as the steering knuckle is made of aluminum.

    2. Connect the flexible hose to the steering knuckle with the bolt.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

  11. INSTALL FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  12. DISCONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL  )
  13. REMOVE FRONT DISC  (See REMOVAL )
  14. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
  15. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB RUNOUT  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
  16. INSTALL FRONT DISC  (See INSTALLATION )
  17. CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the front disc brake caliper to the steering knuckle with 2 new bolts

      Torque: 135 N*m (1377 kgf*cm, 100 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not twist the flexible hose.
      • Make sure the threaded parts are free from foreign matter and are not damaged.
      • Be careful not to overtighten the bolts, as the steering knuckle is made of aluminum.

    2. Connect the flexible hose to the steering knuckle with the bolt.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

  18. STAKE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  19. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Torque: 140 N*m (1428 kgf*cm, 103 ft.*lbf) 

  20. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 
    1. Inspect and adjust the front wheel alignment (see FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT )
  21. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL 
    1. Check the speed sensor signal (see TEST MODE PROCEDURE ).
  22. ADJUST VEHICLE HEIGHT 
    1. Adjust the vehicle height (see ADJUSTMENT )
  23. ADJUST HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. for LED headlight Adjust the headlight (see ADJUSTMENT ).
    2. for HID headlight. Adjust the headlight (see ADJUSTMENT ).
  24. ADJUST OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA 
    1. Adjust the object recognition camera (see ADJUSTMENT ).
