Front Active Stabilizer Control Ecu: Removal

  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
    NOTE:
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
    • After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  4. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOLDING LH  (See REMOVAL )
  10. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOLDING RH  (See REMOVAL )
  11. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY ).
  12. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH  (See REMOVAL ).
  13. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH  (See REMOVAL ).
  14. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH  (See REMOVAL ).
  15. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH  (See REMOVAL ).
  16. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER  (See REMOVAL ).
  17. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
    1. Remove the 9 screws, 7 clips and under cover.
  18. DISCONNECT FRONT FENDER LINER LH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws.
    2. Partially remove the fender.

      HINT:

      It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner Partially remove it so that the ECU can be removed.

  19. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. For HID Headlight

      Remove the headlight (see REMOVAL ).

    2. For LED Headlight

      Remove the headlight (see REMOVAL ).

  20. DRAIN WASHER FLUID  (See WASHER MOTOR )
  21. REMOVE WASHER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL ).
  22. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WASHER JAR ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL ).
  23. REMOVE NO. 3 COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the clamp and remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the duct.

  24. REMOVE INLET ENGINE ROOM ECM DUCT 
    1. Remove the duct from the ECM box.

  25. DISCONNECT FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ACTUATOR CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the wire harness clamp.
    2. Disconnect the actuator connector labeled A.
    3. Disconnect the actuator connector labeled B.
      1. Release the lever's lock (*1).
      2. Press the claw and move the lever in the direction of the arrow in the illustration (*2).
      3. Disconnect the actuator connector (*3).
        NOTE: When disconnecting the actuator connector, do not apply excessive force to the wire harness.

  26. REMOVE FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and ECU

    2. Disconnect the ECU connector.
      1. Release the lever's lock (*1).
      2. Press the claw and move the lever in the direction of the arrow in the illustration (*2).
      3. Disconnect the ECU connector (*3).
        NOTE: When disconnecting the ECU connector, do not apply excessive force to the wire harness.
