Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY SELECTOR 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L23-18 (MUT6) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC), audio system is playing → changing modes 3.5 V or higher → Below 1 V

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )

  2. CHECK VEHICLE EQUIPMENT 
    1. Check if the SDARS system is equipped on the vehicle.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      w/ SDARS System A
      w/o SDARS System B

    B:  Go to step  6

    A: Go to next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - STEREO COMPONENT TUNER) 
    1. Disconnect the F24 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the L37 tuner connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F24-6 (MUTE) - L37-6 (MUTE) Always Below 1 Ω
      F24-6 (MUTE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT TUNER - MULTI-DISPLAY SELECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the L39 tuner connector.
    2. Disconnect the L23 selector connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L39-15 (MUT2) - L23-18 (MUT6) Always Below 1 Ω
      L23-18 (MUT6) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  5. CHECK STEREO COMPONENT TUNER (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the stereo component tuner with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again (See REMOVAL  ).

      OK: Same problem does not occur. 

    NG:  Go to step  7

    OK: END (STEREO COMPONENT TUNER IS DEFECTIVE) 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - MULTI-DISPLAY SELECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the F24 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the L23 selector connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F24-6 (MUTE) - L23-18 (MUT6) Always Below 1 Ω
      F24-6 (MUTE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to next Step 

  7. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY SELECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the L23 selector connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L23-18 (MUT6) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC), audio system is playing → changing modes 3.5 V or higher → Below 1 V

    NG: REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY SELECTOR  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )
