System Description

  1. GENERAL 

    The thin heater wires of the windshield deicer system are attached to the inside of the windshield glass and deice the windshield surface quickly. The indicator light illuminates while the system is operating. The system automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes.

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Component Outline
    Deicer switch Located on the display and navigation module display(1) or multi-display(2), it detects deicer switch operation and transmits signals to the air conditioning amplifier through the CAN communication line
    Deicer relay Receives windshield deicer activation request signals from the air conditioning amplifier and supplies power to the windshield deicer
    Windshield deicer Receives power from the deicer relay and heats the windshield deicer wire
    (1) w/ Navigation System
    (2) w/o Navigation System

    • The deicer relay receives windshield deicer activation request signals from the air conditioning amplifier and supplies power to the windshield deicer
    • Receives power from the deicer relay and heats the windshield deicer wire
