System Outline
Current is always applied from the S/ROOF fuse to TERMINAL 1 of the sliding roof control ECU. When the engine switch is pushed to the on (IG) position, current flows to TERMINAL 5 of the sliding roof control ECU.
- Sliding Roof Open/Close Operation
Sliding roof control switches have been provided to control the operation of the roof: "Slide open/tilt down"; and "Slide close/tilt up." When a switch is pressed and held down for a certain period of time, the one touch automatic operation initiates in accordance with the switch function.
- Key-Off Operation
The roof remains operable for about 43 seconds after the engine switch has been changed from on (IG) to off, or until the driver's seat door is opened and closed, whichever first occurs. However, if an overload reverse operation is occurring at that time, the key-off operation continues until it comes to an end.
- Overload Reverse Operation
The sliding roof control ECU detects jams by foreign material in the sliding roof, if they occur, by noticing abnormal motor speed signals, and subsequently reverses the sliding roof operation.
If the battery terminal or fuse is disconnected, the roof position has to be reset to its initial position by the sliding roof control switch in accordance with the following procedure:
- Reconnect the battery terminal or fuse.
- Operate the sliding roof control switch to open the roof halfway or more.
- Then operate the sliding roof control switch to fully close the roof.
- Do not release the switch for at least one second after the roof is fully closed.
