Inspection Procedure

  1. READ CURRENT DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read DTCs.

      Result 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Result Proceed to
    P0630 is output A
    P0630 and other DTCs are output B

    If any DTCs other than P0630 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

    NOTE: If P0630 is output, the VIN must be input to the ECM using the Techstream. However, all DTCs are cleared automatically by the Techstream when the VIN is input. If DTCs other than P0630 are output, check them first.

    B: GO TO DTC CHART  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INPUT VIN WITH TECHSTREAM 
    1. Refer to the Registration (See CHECKING MONITOR STATUS ).

      NEXT: END
