Transmission Control Cable Assembly: Installation

  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the socket of the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly.
    2. Connect the control cable end to the shift lever assembly.
    3. Push the stopper cap to the socket as shown in the illustration.
    4. Turn the socket of the transmission control cable assembly clockwise and install the stopper cap.

      NOTE:
      • To prevent torsion of the inner cable, the end with protrusion should face up.
      • Push the cable end to the bottom of the pin.
      • Confirm that the connection between the socket and the shift lock control unit is fixed.
    5. Install the transmission control cable assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 4.9 N*m (50 kgf*cm, 43 in.*lbf)

    6. Install the transmission control cable bracket No. 2 with the bolt.

      Torque: 12 N*m (122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf)

    7. Temporarily install the transmission control cable assembly to the control shaft lever with the nut.

    8. Connect the transmission control cable assembly with a new clip to the bracket.

  2. INSTALL CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  3. INSTALL AIR DUCT REAR NO. 2 
  4. INSTALL AIR DUCT REAR NO. 1 
  5. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX DUCT NO. 1 
  6. INSTALL CONSOLE COVER LOWER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX HOLE COVER NO. 2 (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX HOLE COVER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  11. INSTALL FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  12. INSTALL FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  13. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  14. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO. 2 (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  15. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  16. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  17. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  18. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  19. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  20. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  21. INSTALL CONSOLE PANEL UPPER FRONT (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  22. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB 
  23. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  24. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (w/ No. 2 engine under cover) 
  25. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  26. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ engine under cover assembly) 
  27. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See  ADJUSTMENT   ) 
  28. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION (See  ADJUSTMENT   ) 
  29. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 

    HINT:

  30. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    HINT:

    Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal (See INITIALIZATION )
