Inspection Procedure
HINT:
Read freeze frame data using Techstream. The ECM (Included in HV control ECU) records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data, from the time the malfunction occurred.
- CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2119)
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Turn the tester ON.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Code.
- Read the DTCs.

- CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P2119)
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Put the engine in inspection mode (See CHECK MODE PROCEDURE ).
- Start the engine.
- Turn the tester ON.
- Clear the DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
- Start the engine and allow the engine to idle for 15 seconds.
- Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal quickly (to fully open and close the throttle valve).
- On the tester, enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Code.
- Read the DTCs.
HINT:
The output voltage of the throttle position sensor can be checked using the tester. Variations in the output voltage indicate that the throttle actuator is in operation. To check the output voltage using the tester, enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / ECTS / Throttle Position No. 1 and Throttle Position No. 2.
OK: No DTC output.
NG: REPLACE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY
OK: NORMAL
