System Description

  1. COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
    1. Components in the audio system communicate with each other through the Audio Visual Communication-Local Area Network (AVC-LAN).
Fig 1: Audio System Communication Diagram

    2. The receiver has a resistance of 60 to 80 Ω, which is necessary for communication.
    3. When a short circuit or circuit breakdown occurs in the AVC-LAN circuit, the audio system does not operate normally due to the communication cut off.
  2. DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION
    1. The audio system has a diagnosis function. The diagnosis result is displayed on the LCD of the radio receiver.
    2. A component code (physical address), or 3 digit code (in hexadecimal), is set for each component of the AVC-LAN.
    3. The logical address, or 2 digit code (in hexadecimal), is set for each function and component unit in each component of the AVC-LAN.
  3. COMPACT DISC PLAYER
    1. The Compact Disc (CD) player uses a laser beam pickup to read the digital signals recorded on CDs and reproduce analog signals of music, etc. The CD player can play 12 cm (4.7 in.) and 8 cm (3.2 in.) discs.
NOTE: Never disassemble or apply oil to any part of the player unit.
Only insert discs into the CD player.
CAUTION: Do not look directly at the CD player's laser beam. Be sure to only operate the player as instructed.
  4. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
