Removable Roof Panel: Installation

- INSTALL SIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH
- Install the limit switch to the removable roof look.
- Install the screw.
- INSTALL SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install the drive gear to the removable roof look.
- Install the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
- INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP RETAINER CENTER RH
- Install the weatherstrip retainer with the 6 screws.
- INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP RETAINER CENTER LH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the RH side.
- INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP RH
- install the weatherstrip with the 2 screws and 2 clips.
- INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP LH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the RH side.
- INSTALL REMOVABLE ROOF PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install the sliding roof or removable roof panel.
- Using a T40 "TORX" socket, install the 8 screws.
Torque: 40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf)
- INSTALL REMOVABLE ROOF LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Temporarily install the 9 screws to install the removable roof look.
- Tighten the 6 screws of the 2 locks.
Torque: 6.9 N*m (70 kgf*cm, 61 in.*lbf)
- Fully close the roof.
HINT:
Check that the guide pin on the edge of the roof panel is aligned with the catch on the pillar.
- Set the switch of the roof to the lock position.
- Insert the tip of the wrench into the drive gear shaft.
- Turn the wrench counterclockwise (viewing from under the roof) to unlock the roof lock.NOTE: Turn the hexagon wrench as much as possible, but do not apply excessive force.
- Tighten the remaining 3 screws.
Torque: 6.9 N*m (70 kgf*cm, 61 in.*lbf)
- Release the lock to return it to the half open condition.
- Attach the wire harness clamp.
- Connect the limit switch connector and drive gear connector.
- INSTALL REMOVABLE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
- Attach the 3 clips labeled B to install the roof headlining.
- Install the 5 clips labeled A.
- INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH
- Attach the 4 clips to install the garnish.
- INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the RH side.
- CONNECT CABLE TO FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION
- Perform initialization (see

).NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
