Removable Roof Panel: Installation

  1. INSTALL SIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH 
    1. Install the limit switch to the removable roof look.
    2. Install the screw.

  2. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the drive gear to the removable roof look.
    2. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)

  3. INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP RETAINER CENTER RH 
    1. Install the weatherstrip retainer with the 6 screws.

  4. INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP RETAINER CENTER LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

  5. INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. install the weatherstrip with the 2 screws and 2 clips.
  6. INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

  7. INSTALL REMOVABLE ROOF PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the sliding roof or removable roof panel.

    2. Using a T40 "TORX" socket, install the 8 screws.

      Torque: 40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf)

  8. INSTALL REMOVABLE ROOF LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily install the 9 screws to install the removable roof look.
    2. Tighten the 6 screws of the 2 locks.

      Torque: 6.9 N*m (70 kgf*cm, 61 in.*lbf)

    3. Fully close the roof.

      HINT:

      Check that the guide pin on the edge of the roof panel is aligned with the catch on the pillar.

    4. Set the switch of the roof to the lock position.
      1. Insert the tip of the wrench into the drive gear shaft.

      2. Turn the wrench counterclockwise (viewing from under the roof) to unlock the roof lock.
        NOTE: Turn the hexagon wrench as much as possible, but do not apply excessive force.
    5. Tighten the remaining 3 screws.

      Torque: 6.9 N*m (70 kgf*cm, 61 in.*lbf) 

    6. Release the lock to return it to the half open condition.
    7. Attach the wire harness clamp.
    8. Connect the limit switch connector and drive gear connector.

  9. INSTALL REMOVABLE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 3 clips labeled B to install the roof headlining.
    2. Install the 5 clips labeled A.

  10. INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Attach the 4 clips to install the garnish.

  11. INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

  12. CONNECT CABLE TO FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  13. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
