Inspection Procedure

CHECK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT
1. Check that the brake warning light comes on when the parking brake pedal is depressed, and goes off when the parking brake pedal is released.
NG: Go to step 3

OK: Go to next step

INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Disconnect the P3 switch connector.

Measure the resistance of the switch.

Standard resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
Switch connector - Switch body	Pushed	Below 1 Ω
Switch connector - Switch body	Not pushed	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPLACE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY

OK: Go to next step

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (PARKING BRAKE SWITCH - INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL)

Disconnect the M5 panel connector.

Disconnect the P3 switch connector.

Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

Tester Connection	Specified Condition
M5-17 (PKB) - P3-1	Below 1 Ω
M5-17 (PKB) - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK: Go to next step

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER

Remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly center.

Measure the resistance of the panel.

Standard resistance

TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

M5-17 (PKB) - A-16 (PKB)	Below 1 Ω

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
