System Outline

* To give optimal maneuverability to the driver, the steering gear ratio is calculated from the steering angle and the vehicle speed, and this ratio is used to operate the actuator and provide steering assistance.

* When the system detects an abnormality, the power relay (Built into the ECU) is shut off and the assistance is stopped by inserting a lock bar (Built into the actuator), and the master warning lamp on the combination meter will be lit up.

* The front wheel turning angle is also controlled according to signals from the skid control ECU.
