Section 20 (Engine Control System (Service Information)): ECM: Removal: Removal

- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 15
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 17
- REMOVE ECM BOX COVER
- Remove all water on and around the cover.
- Perform the inspection indoors to avoid rain.
- Be sure to prevent water intrusion to the ECM (connectors and screw parts).
- Remove the 3 bolts and cover.
NOTE: - DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS
- Using a screw driver, detach the 2 claws.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Disconnect the 2 connector holders.
- Disconnect the 6 connectors.
- Using a screw driver, detach the 2 claws.
- REMOVE ECM
- Remove the 2 nuts and ECM.
