Fuel Pressure Sensor: Installation: Installation

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:
    • Do not smoke or work near an open flame when handling the fuel system.
    • Keep gasoline away from rubber or leather parts.
    • Do not allow fuel to spray when removing the pipe between the high pressure side fuel pump and the fuel injector. The fuel in the pipe is highly pressurized.
  2. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR 
    1. Install a new gasket to the fuel pressure sensor.
    2. Using SST, install the fuel pressure sensor to the fuel delivery pipe.

      • SST: 09922-10010 

      without SST 

      Torque: 44 N*m ( 449 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf) 

      with SST 

      Torque: 40 N*m ( 409 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply oil to the threads of the pressure sensor and delivery pipe.
      • Do not allow foreign matter to enter the pipe during installation.

      HINT: 

      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.81 in.).
      • Make sure that SST and the wrench are connected in a straight line.
    3. Connect the connector.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  See step  8
  4. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the intake air surge tank assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  6. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 4
  7. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK  . Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 1
  8. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK  . Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 1
