How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage: 

    11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

  3. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
    2. Delete the DTCs (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).
    3. Recheck for DTCs (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ). Based on the DTCs output above, try to force output of the same CAN communication system DTC or meter/gauge system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.

      Result: 

      RESULT REFERENCE CHART

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      CAN communication system DTC is output B
      Meter/gauge system DTC is output C

      B: Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM )

      C:  Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

      A: Go to Next Step 

  4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  .

      Result: 

      RESULT REFERENCE CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table A
      Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B

      B:  Go to step  6

      A: Go to Next Step 

  5. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Terminals of ECU (See TERMINALS OF ECU  )
    2. Data List/Active Test (See DATA LIST/ACTIVE TEST  )
    3. Operation check (See OPERATION CHECK  )
  6. REPAIR OR REPLACE 
  7. CONFIRMATION TEST
