| Either of the following conditions is met | Condition 1 or 2 |
| 1. All of the following conditions are met | Conditions (a), (b) or (c) |
| (a) Engine coolant temperature | 20°C (68°F) or more |
| (b) Engine coolant temperature sensor fail | Not detected |
| (c) Time after park/neutral position switch ON to OFF | 10 seconds or more |
| 2. All of the following conditions are met | - |
| Either of the following condition is met | Condition (a) or (b) |
| (a) Engine coolant temperature | Less than 20°C (68°F) |
| (b) Engine coolant temperature sensor fail | Detected |
| Time after park/neutral position switch ON to OFF | 30 seconds or more |
