Problem Symptoms Table

Use the table below to help determine the cause of the problem symptom. The potential causes of the symptoms are listed in order of probability in the "Suspected Area" column of the table. Check each symptom by checking the suspected areas in the order they are listed. Replace parts as necessary.

General

Advanced parking guidance function malfunction 

PROBLEM SYMPTOMS CHART - ADVANCED PARKING GUIDANCE FUNCTION MALFUNCTION

"! Check APGS System. Have your vehicle checked by a dealer." is displayed Parking assist ECU "! CHECK APGS SYSTEM. HAVE YOUR VEHICLE CHECKED BY A DEALER." IS DISPLAYED 
Initialize steering angle neutral point INITIALIZATION 
CAN communication system CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
"System initializing" is displayed Initialize steering angle neutral point INITIALIZATION 
After disconnecting and reconnecting battery terminal, even if steering angle neutral point is corrected, "system initializing" is displayed Initialize steering angle neutral point INITIALIZATION 
Parking operation stops and "! System cannot guide under current conditions." is displayed (no DTC is output) Tire inflation or tire PARKING OPERATION STOPS AND "! SYSTEM CANNOT GUIDE UNDER CURRENT CONDITIONS." IS DISPLAYED (NO DTC IS OUTPUT)

Initialize steering angle neutral point -
Parking space cannot be detected but ultrasonic sensor is not malfunctioning (no DTC and intuitive parking assist is normal) (even though parked vehicles are next to parking space, parking box display varies from target parking position) Perform visual check of front bumper to check that it is normal -
Check ultrasonic sensor installation condition INSTALLATION 
Even though vehicle is not driving on incline, area with steps, etc., and engine is not warmed up, engine RPM is high when using advanced parking guidance (compared with not using advanced parking guidance, such as when shift lever is on R) Perform G sensor zero point memory operation again CALIBRATION

Sound (Guidance) malfunction
