Auxiliary Emission Control Systems: Canister: Installation

INSTALL CANISTER
1. Connect the purge line hose to the charcoal canister.
2. Attach the 2 clamps.

3. Install the canister with the 4 bolts and 2 plastic nuts.
  Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

4. Connect the connector (leak detection pump).
5. Connect the purge line hose to the canister.

6. Connect the air inlet line tube (leak detection pump) and vent line tube to the pipes of the canister, as shown in A in the illustration. Then slide the retainers to lock the claws, as shown in B in the illustration.
  NOTE:
  - Check that there are no scratches or foreign matter around the connecting part of the fuel tube connector and pipe before connecting them.
  - After connecting the fuel tube connector, check that the fuel tube connector is securely connected by trying to pull the fuel tube connector and pipe apart.

INSTALL FLOOR NO. 1 UNDER COVER
1. Install the under cover with the 5 nuts and 5 clips.
2. Install the 2 hole plugs.
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
