Inspection Procedure
- CHECK DTC FOR ALL SYSTEM
- Clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
- Check for the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR
).
Result

C: GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
A: Go to Next Step
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Select the Active Test mode on the Techstream.
Meter ECU:
TESTER DISPLAY REFERENCE CHARTTester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Indicat. Lamp Slip Turns slip indicator light ON/OFF Confirm that the vehicle is stopped and engine idling - Check that the slip indicator light turns on or off when using the Techstream.
OK: The slip indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Techstream.
HINT:
If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).
NG: GO TO METER AND GAUGE SYSTEM (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
OK: Go to Next Step
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Select the Active Test mode on the Techstream.
ABS/VSC/TRAC
TESTER DISPLAY REFERENCE CHARTTester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Slip Indicator Light Turns slip indicator light ON/OFF Observe combination meter - Check that the slip indicator light turns on or off when using the Techstream.
OK: The slip indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Techstream.
HINT:
If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).
NG: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (See REMOVAL )
OK: Go to Next Step
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (NO. 1 CONSOLE SWITCH)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Select the Data List mode on the Techstream.
Center console switch:
TESTER DISPLAY REFERENCE CHARTTester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note TRC (TRAC)/VSC OFF Switch VSC OFF switch/ON or OFF ON: VSC OFF switch OFF
OFF: VSC OFF switch ON- - Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the VSC OFF switch turns on or off on the Techstream.
OK: The VSC OFF switch is operated, and the display changes as shown above.
HINT:
The procedure above is performed to confirm the condition of the TR(A)C/VSC switch.
NG: REPLACE NO. 1 CONSOLE SWITCH
OK: Go to Next Step
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Select the Data List mode on the Techstream.
ABS/VSC/TRAC

NG: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (See REMOVAL )
OK: CHECK INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (See CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS )
