Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the skid control ECU, perform initialization of linear solenoid valve and calibration (see INITIALIZATION  ).
  1. INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if the CAN communication system DTC is output (see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

      B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

      A: Go to Next Step 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (BRAKE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Select the ABS/VSC/TRAC "Warning Light" and "VSC Warning Light" in the Active Test and operate the brake control (electronically controlled brake system/VSC) warning light by the Techstream.

    4. Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the brake (electronically controlled brake system/VSC) warning lights/yellow (minor malfunction) are indicated on the combination meter when using the Techstream.

      OK: The brake (electronically controlled brake system/VSC) warning light/yellow (minor malfunction) turn on or off in accordance with the Techstream. 

      HINT:

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

      OK: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (See  REMOVAL   ) 

      NG: Go to Next Step 

  3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the combination meter (see HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).

      HINT:

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the "PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE", refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

      NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )

      OK: END
