Camshaft Oil Control Valve: Installation

  1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1) 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring, and install it to the camshaft timing oil control valve.
    2. Install the camshaft timing oil control valve with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve (connecting surface with cylinder head cover).
      • Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or moved out of place when installing the camshaft timing oil control valve.
    3. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.

  2. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring, and install it to the camshaft timing oil control valve.
    2. Install the camshaft timing oil control valve with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve (connecting surface with cylinder head cover).
      • Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or moved out of place when installing the camshaft timing oil control valve.
    3. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  7. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  9. DRIVING TEST 
    1. After the engine is warmed up, perform the driving test. Then check that the oil control valve operates normally.
