Steering Column Assembly: Installation

- INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
- Install the steering column assembly with the 4 nuts.
Torque: 26 N*m (260 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf)
- Connect the connectors and wire harness clamps to the steering column assembly.
- Install the steering column assembly with the 4 nuts.
- INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
- Install the clamp to the steering column hole cover
- Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and the steering column.
- Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf)
- Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and the steering link.
- Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf)
- PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
- INSTALL NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Attach the 2 claws to install the air duct.
- Install the bolt.
Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf)
- Attach the 2 claws and install the wiring harness protector.
- INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly to the steering column assembly with the clamp.
- Connect the connectors to the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly
- INSTALL TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH
- Attach the claw to install the switch
- Connect the switch connector.
- INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera)
- Attach the claw to install the upper steering column cover.
- Attach the 4 clips to install the upper steering column cover onto the instrument cluster finish panel.
- Attach the 2 claws to install the lower steering column cover.NOTE: Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.
- Install the 3 screws.
Torque: 2.0 N*m (20 kgf*cm, 18 in.*lbf)
- INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera)
- Connect the driver monitor connector
- Attach the claw to install the upper steering column cover.
- Attach the 4 clips to install the upper steering column cover onto the instrument cluster finish panel.
- Attach the 2 claws to install the lower steering column cover.NOTE: Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.
- Install the 3 screws.
Torque: 2.0 N*m (20 kgf*cm, 18 in.*lbf)
- INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB- ASSEMBLY (See INSPECTION )
- INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
- Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft assembly
- Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.
Torque: 50 N*m (510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf)
- INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
- INSPECT STEERING PAD
- Inspect the steering pad (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
- INSTALL STEERING WHEEL PAD (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE (See INSTALLATION )
- CHECK FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
- INSTALL FRONT WHEELS
Torque: 140 N*m (1428 kgf*cm, 103 ft.*lbf)
- INSTALL SERVICE PLUG GRIP (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER (See INSTALLATION )
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
- Reset the AUTO TILT AWAY function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter (see CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS ).
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
- INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH (See REMOVAL )
- INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY
- INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
- Inspect the SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
