How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

- Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobilizer system
- *. Use the intelligent tester or Techstream
- VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP
- INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
Standard voltage:
11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding
- CHECK FOR DTC*
- Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
- Clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
- Recheck for DTCs (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR
). Based on the DTCs output above, try to cause the output of the same hybrid control system DTC, LIN communication system DTC, steering lock system DTC or engine immobilizer system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.
