How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage: 11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding

  3. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output (see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  ).
    2. Clear the DTC
    3. Recheck for DTCs Based on the DTCs output above, try to cause the output of the same CAN communication system DTC, LIN communication DTC or lighting system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.

      Result: 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      DTC output does not reoccur A
      CAN communication system DTC output reoccurs B
      LIN communication system DTC output reoccurs C
      Lighting system DTC output reoccurs D

    B: Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM )

    C: Go to LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )

    D: Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  )

    A: Go to next step 

  4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

  5. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Operation Check (see OPERATION CHECK  )
    2. Terminals of ECU (see TERMINALS OF ECU  ).
    3. Data List / Active Test (see DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST  ).
  6. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 
  7. CONFIRMATION TEST
