Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER 
    1. Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      R32-19 (MUT4) - Body ground Turn power switch ON (ACC), disc player is playing → Changing modes 3.5 V or higher → Below 1 V

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER  (See REMOVAL  )

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SEAT CONSOLE BOX - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER) 
    1. Disconnect the R16 box connector
    2. Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R16-14 (MUTE) - R32-19 (MUT4) Always Below 1 Ω
      R16-14 (MUTE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT REAR SEAT CONSOLE BOX

    1. Disconnect the box connector
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-6 (MUTE) - E-14 (MUTE) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE REAR SEAT CONSOLE BOX  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: REPLACE DISC PLAYER  (See REMOVAL  )
