VVT Sensor: Removal: Removal

  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 
  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 4
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

  4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER  See step  3
  5. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  See step  4
  6. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE  See step  5
  7. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to REMOVAL .
  8. REMOVE VVT SENSOR

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 sensors.
